Happy Samhain!

Samhain (pronounced "souw-wen" or ˈsau̇ə̇n, because Celtic be like that) is a lot of things. It's still the Gaelic word for November. Its literal meaning is summer's end, and in Druid culture, it heralds a new year in old tradition. I'm a druid myself, where spirituality goes; a long standing patron of the bard and poet, and while we're at it, game developer. Samhain is also my target release date, and we are on time baby!

Samhain is also the origin of most modern Halloween festivals. Sweets, dressing up and parading around town, the traditional party... I feel no hesitation in saying that when it comes to partying, Druids were always where it was at. Only difference was that they carved turnips, instead of pumpkins, but who's counting? It may not always make the best pie, but you can do a lot of great things with a turnip.

Not that this game is about turnips... no... this is Gummy World. This is not Turnip World. This, will make your teeth beg for mercy.

I've been playing around on Itch for a long time now, and I think I'm ready to hit the big leagues with game development. What you're seeing here is just a small, early facet of what I have planned, and while my games have been relatively small as of yet, I am no stranger to project management. The demo is free, no tip is necessary, though it is of course appreciated.

Big up to the Albuquerque Game Developer Group, which while not officially connected, has been super helpful. Big ups also go out to the KDE community, which I am proud to be a sponsoring part of; the Blender Foundation, and the Godot Foundation. (I have absolutely nothing against non-free software and do occasionally use it; but, after thirty years of banging out scripts, I have a vivid passion for the open source community for multimedia. I've learned a great deal just from browsing through their repositories.) While I'm at it, ImageMagick, FFMPEG, and Vim & Grep have been invaluable terminal tools while clunking this thing together.
