v.1.3—Currency
Gravitroids » Devlog
The first thing I look at when I start working on 'Troids, or any game, is my checklist of future improvements. Bug fixes are up at the top, but I try to add one fun new thing in, especially for people who weren't bothered by the bugs. Today it's currency.
- Added coins. Values are 25, 50, and 100, dependent on the asteroid they came from, just like score (at least for now). I may add some random variation to it in the future.
- Coins are affected by the gravity well. I'm thinking about providing some form of tentative nature to them in the future, something that could destroy a coin other than picking it up; but for now, they stick around until the end of the stage. Which brings me to...
- After exiting the shop, all coins are cleared from the screen as the next star system is set up.
- Shop now accepts currency, rather than raw score.
Next up is likely going to be stellar mass. I feel it starts out a little too high for my tastes; but as of the moment, all stars are of the same mass. My plan is to eventually have them kind of evolve like actual stars do; maybe as level 20 is reasonably approachable, I'll throw in neutron stars and black holes; but like everything in this game it's going to be scaled to taste.
